Apprentices make insect house for Riding school

Insect house

SPV Training partnered with Juniper Training Ltd back in 2019 as our values aligned and we had shared missions. For both companies it is so important to give back to the communities we work in and place social value at the top of our agendas

Recently the Building Futures students made an insect house as a community project. This was delivered by SPV to Gartmore Riding school Riding for the disabled.

From here, the project has gone over and above initial plans and aspirations and has directly benefited more stakeholders than we had anticipated.

Community groups have now filled the insect hotel and built the rooms- The memory lane cafe supporting Alzheimer/ dementia and Chasetown community school were invited to Tea with a pony day recently and did various activities including leading a pony as well as rock painting creative fun to fill the hotel ready for its new guests!

What an amazing story to show how much something so simple can have such far reaching benefits.

This was so successful, a community project has now been added as part of the Building Futures course curriculum

The next group will be working with the Royal British Legion helping with the regeneration of a local canal pathway through the canals trust and building bird boxes to encourage more birds to the area.
